Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Release date: September 1, 2015
The more we see; of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom; Pain, the more impressive it gets. Yes, there are the expected Hideo Kojima gags sprinkled here and there (there's a box with female ;models painted on the side ;for goodness sake), but the gameplay offers more freedom ;than the series has ever seen before.
First off, the mission ;areas are massive -- some of which need vehicles or horses to cross in any respectable amount of time -- giving you plenty of room to execute a unique attack strategy. Snake also has a plethora of new gadgets in his arsenal which come with what seems like countless practical uses. One demo showed Snake use a decoy dummy as a distraction for enemy soldiers and local wildlife, and the same device was ;used to launch an enemy off a cliff. On top of that, Snake can also call in backup, getting sniper support from the scantily-clad Quiet and a variety of air support from nearby ;helicopters. It's going to be interesting to see what other surprises the game has in store ;as we get closer to the release.
