Why everyone is wrong about the Witcher 3's combat
The Witcher 3 is an excellent RPG, but its combat system has come under fire from many people for being too easy, too difficult, too clumsy, too lightweight. These people are wrong. I've been interested in sword-fighting both real and virtual for some time, and three years ago I took up historical longsword training in order to better understand the mechanics of it. In my view, CDProjekt has created a fascinating blend of authentic and fictional swordplay, one which rethinks several recently established frameworks for melee combat, resulting in a coherent fighting style specific to the needs of your character.
Official Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 trailer goes to war
The revolution is coming! Lionsgate has unveiled the new full-length trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, in which Katniss has fully transformed from toughened survivalist to badass freedom fighter.
The new movie will see Katniss and her allies carrying the fight to the Capitol, as the denizens of District 13 attempt to overthrow the repressive regime of President Snow. Time to prepare for all-out war. Check out the new trailer, below…
Batman might have a harder time gliding around Gotham with a massive vinyl head weighing him down, but somehow that only increases the appeal of these Funko Pop! Heroes. Funko will soon add four Batman: Arkham Knight inspired figures to its line of collectibles: Batman in his armor-plated Batsuit, Harley Quinn with a baseball bat, the mysterious Arkham Knight himself, and Scarecrow.
IGN posted images of the four-inch quartet, each of which will retail for the standard $10.99 once they hit stores in September. You can pick up last year's Arkham Asylum line if you want to get started early, featuring less-armored Batman, the Joker, nurse Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Killer Croc.

Titan Souls
Release date: 2015
Titan Souls is the game we've wanted and have been afraid of our entire lives. Have you ever fought a hard boss in an RPG, found yourself down to a single hit point, and dodged every attack as best you can to stay in the fight? That's Titan Souls, but for EVERY BATTLE YOU FIGHT. You always have 1 HP, so you're going to have to work for your victories.
Oh, if that's not enough, you only have one arrow for your bow too, so you'll have to watch where it lands, pick it up, and attack again should you miss. Luckily, the bosses all have 1 HP as well, so it's a matter of who hits who first. We expect a lot of mistakes, a lot of death, and a lot of yelling at our screens, but we also expect one hell of a game.

Dead Island 2
Release date: 2015
More zombie skull crushing, electric knife shanking, and wacky weapon building is coming back in Dead Island 2. The funny thing is Dead Island 2 doesn't even take place on an island. Instead, the sequel allows players to explore the major cities of California, including L.A. and San Francisco.
The developers have also changed the overarching story quite a bit in Dead Island 2 in that...there really isn't one. This time you're all on your own. You survive the way you want, you help only the people you want, and you basically have free reign to do whatever in the zombie-infested cities. There are no story quests. It's all done by randomly emergent quest chains and you decide whether to take them or go bash another 100 decayed skulls in with a sledgehammer. Sounds fun.

Final Fantasy XV
Release date: 2015
In 2006, Square Enix announces Final Fantasy Versus XIII, a complimentary game to their upcoming Final Fantasy XIII spectacular. Fans were excited to have multiple Final Fantasy games to sink their teeth into...but then years passed and not a peep of Versus XIII was spoken. Rumors of delays and cancellations swirled without a single answer, making all of us question the fate of this ambitious title.
All of a sudden, at E3 2013, the game resurfaced with impressive gameplay footage and a brand new moniker: Final Fantasy XV. Now the 15th installment of the core franchise, FFXV has large shoes to full, but a darker storyline and remarkable realism lead us to believe it will be successful. It's early yet, but our confidence is high.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Release date: September 1, 2015
The more we see; of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom; Pain, the more impressive it gets. Yes, there are the expected Hideo Kojima gags sprinkled here and there (there's a box with female ;models painted on the side ;for goodness sake), but the gameplay offers more freedom ;than the series has ever seen before.
First off, the mission ;areas are massive -- some of which need vehicles or horses to cross in any respectable amount of time -- giving you plenty of room to execute a unique attack strategy. Snake also has a plethora of new gadgets in his arsenal which come with what seems like countless practical uses. One demo showed Snake use a decoy dummy as a distraction for enemy soldiers and local wildlife, and the same device was ;used to launch an enemy off a cliff. On top of that, Snake can also call in backup, getting sniper support from the scantily-clad Quiet and a variety of air support from nearby ;helicopters. It's going to be interesting to see what other surprises the game has in store ;as we get closer to the release.
Ludicrous Gibs for the Next Generation: Why Violence in Video Games is OK
The war on video games is over. Jack Thompson lost the fight against gamers back at the turn of the century in an embarrassing display of hyperbole where he parlayed that killing in games was responsible for real world massacres, ultimately arguing against children and teenagers being exposed to virtual violence.
For some reason, however, a few of the industry’s indie developers are trying to bring the fight back.
Michael Samyn, the co-creator of Sunset, has gone a few steps further than Thompson. In a recent piece on Gamasutra reposted from his original blog, he discusses violent behavior in video games:

Grand Theft Auto 5 Online’s 30 Player Fight Club Scene is Fantastic
Fresh from celebrating the 4th of July, Grand Theft Auto Online has offered up something new in the form of a 30 player Fight Club.
You can watch the violence unfolding in the GIF below. It's pretty clear that the first, fourth, and fifth rule of Fight Club are being broken here but we're sure Tyler will overlook it all, Trevor might not be so forgiving.
GTA Online is set to expand this week, with the Ill-Gotten Gain Part 2 DLC, which introduces more luxurious cars, planes, weapons, bling, and more. You can find details of what's included
Dragon Age Inquisition DLC Only Releasing on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in Future
BioWare has announced that all future DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition will be exclusive to PC and current-gen platforms. The content will not be released on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
Those who upgrade from last-gen to a PS4 or Xbox One will be able to use a new save importer feature. A reason for the decision to abandon previous consoles was not provided.
In an update on the Dragon Age website, the studio wrote "All future Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One only, so we designed our Save Importer feature to help make the transition to a new console as easy as possible."
Save games can only be imported within a console family - that means saves from PS3 can only transfer to PS4 and saves from Xbox 360 can only transfer to Xbox One. PC save imports/exports are currently not supported.
If you purchased DLC on a previous-gen console, you will be able to unlock it on your new system at no extra charge.
Details on how to transfer your saves are listed on the Dragon Age site. More story based content for the game is coming but BioWare has yet to officially announce what it will be.
